Limited Lifetime Warranty

DMV Epoxy Pro Warranty

At DMV Epoxy Pro, we stand behind our work. When your floor is installed correctly and cared for properly, it should perform for many years. This Limited Warranty explains what is covered, for how long, and the situations that are not covered. This warranty applies only to epoxy and polyaspartic floor coating systems installed by DMV Epoxy Pro and fully paid for by the original customer.

1. Residential Garage & Interior Floors

(Garages, basements, utility rooms, home workshops – up to 10,000 sq. ft. per project)

For residential interior concrete floors, DMV Epoxy Pro warrants the coating system to the original homeowner as follows:

  1. Adhesion / Peeling / Delamination

    • The coating will not peel or delaminate from the properly prepared concrete substrate for as long as the original homeowner owns the property.

  2. Limited Stain Resistance – Automotive Fluids

    • The coating is warranted to resist staining from incidental spills of common automotive fluids (motor oil, transmission fluid, radiator coolant, gasoline, diesel) when the spill is wiped up promptly (within 20 minutes of the spill).

    • This stain-resistance warranty is provided for a period of ten (10) years from the date DMV Epoxy Pro substantially completes the installation.

2. Commercial & Industrial Floors

(Shops, warehouses, bays, showrooms, and other business-use areas – up to 20,000 sq. ft. per project)

For floors installed in commercial, industrial, or business-use buildings, DMV Epoxy Pro warrants the coating system to the original customer for a period of three (3) years from the date of substantial completion against:

  • Peeling or delamination from the concrete substrate; and

  • Staining from incidental spills of oil, transmission fluid, radiator coolant, gasoline, and diesel, when such spills are removed promptly (wiped up within 20 minutes).

3. Exterior Surfaces

(Patios, walkways, porches, pool decks, and other exterior concrete – up to 20,000 sq. ft. per project)

For exterior concrete surfaces, DMV Epoxy Pro warrants the coating system to the original customer for a period of three (3) years from the date of substantial completion against:

  • Peeling or delamination from the concrete substrate; and

  • Staining from incidental spills of oil, transmission fluid, radiator coolant, gasoline, and diesel, when such spills are removed promptly (wiped up within 20 minutes).

Normal color change or loss of gloss caused by UV exposure, weathering, or age is not considered a defect and is not covered under this warranty.

4. What This Warranty Does Not Cover (Exclusions)

This Limited Warranty does not apply to, and DMV Epoxy Pro will not be responsible for:

  • Normal wear and tear, minor scratches, chips, or loss of gloss consistent with use over time.

  • Cracking of the concrete slab (including hairline cracks, structural cracks, heaving, or movement) and any resulting cracking, chipping, or separation of the coating.

  • Defective or contaminated substrate, including prior coatings, sealers, curing compounds, adhesives, or contaminants not visible or disclosed at the time of installation.

  • Moisture-related issues, including hydrostatic pressure, moisture vapor transmission above manufacturer limits, water intrusion, or groundwater problems.

  • Improper repairs or alterations made by anyone other than DMV Epoxy Pro.

  • Misuse, abuse, or neglect, including:

    • Dragging heavy or sharp objects, metal stands, or equipment across the floor

    • Impact damage from dropped tools or equipment

    • Damage from tire chains, snow plows, snow blowers, jacks, or jack stands

  • Chemical damage from substances not covered above, including but not limited to:

    • Battery acid

    • Brake fluid

    • Fertilizers, de-icing salts, strong solvents, paint strippers, or industrial chemicals

  • Damage from extreme temperatures, fire, flood, plumbing leaks, ground movement, or other accidents, casualties, or natural disasters.

  • Areas not prepared or coated by DMV Epoxy Pro, or coatings altered, top-coated, or repaired by others after installation.

  • Cosmetic issues such as color variation, flake distribution, minor surface imperfections, or variations common to hand-applied decorative coatings.

5. Owner Responsibilities

To keep this warranty in effect, the owner agrees to:

  • Follow DMV Epoxy Pro’s care and maintenance guidelines, including approved cleaning methods and products.

  • Wipe up spills of automotive fluids and chemicals within 20 minutes.

  • Avoid dragging sharp or heavy objects; use pads, plywood, or wheels where appropriate.

  • Avoid prolonged exposure to harsh chemicals not approved for use on the floor.

Failure to follow these guidelines may void this warranty.

6. Non-Transferability

 This Limited Warranty is non-transferable. It applies only to the original purchaser and the property listed on the original contract. If the property is sold or transferred, this warranty automatically terminates.
